16 weeks........(almost)

Here is the side pic of the baby bump. Bloggers forgive me for the 14 week front view:) Here ya go!

ps Unfortunately, Tayler took the pic and it is a little blurry. Our camera is messed up and you can't see the pic as you take it anymore. We have to get it fixed! If you click on the picture, you can see a lil' better.

Tayler and his guitar!

Tayler bought an acoustic about a month ago but needed an electric as well. Much to our surprise, a good friend and coworker, presented this to Tayler on Easter. He was so excited. He kept showing us the whammy board(sp?) Today is his first lesson. I am so excited b/c I have always prayed that he would play the guitar. That may sound silly, but I think it is b/c I always wanted to be able to worship in this way. So, it makes me very happy that he is now taking lessons. A friend from church is also doing those. He actually comes to our house, so that is nice. We will keep you updated as we go along!

Murals and More

I have been researching murals for our nursery for quite a while now. I have found some great ideas for girls and boys. I will post some pics of both. These aren't the only ideas I have.....just a few cute ones. Obviously, there would be more to it than just these pics. But, let us know what you think. Again, they wouldn't be exact, but more of inspiration. Brian's sister is a very talented artist so I can't wait to see what she creates. On another note, we went to the Dr. on Friday and she said not to listen to the ultrasound techs in what they told us about the sex. She said it was way too early to tell. What they told us, would be considered more cutting edge ideas about positioning, etc. They were pretty convincing, but now it is up in the air again. We find out for sure on April 23. I can't wait! I think them telling us so early on makes it seem like a lot longer. On another note, I also have felt a few movements but nothing consistent. I can't wait to feel the kicks everyday! That will just be so incredible!

PS Tell us what you think....BOY or GIRL!

Star Wars Egg-stravaganza!

Of course- Star Wars Easter! We don't always color eggs but I saw the Star Wars and just couldn't resist. It was a lot of fun. Typically Tayler gets really attached to the eggs and doesn't want to "hurt" them. It can be really stressful when he starts crying about cracking them. But, this year he just enjoyed coloring and putting stickers on them. I know we'll laugh about Tayler taking the eggs and hiding them from us to protect them.

Have a happy Easter!

Getting the nursery ready!

My friend and I painted the nursery today all while watching her 3 year old and 1 year old. Can you say difficult? There is still touch up to be done, but here are the pics!

Painting!

This is the color that I am painting the nursery tomorrow. I was able to match the color to Pottery Barn's color perfectly. This was in thanks to Rachel b/c she did this for Jackson and Julia's bathroom. I only had to get the name and number from her. So, this is it and I will post pics of the room tomorrow.

Nursery to be.....

I have been thinking a lot about the nursery and what it will look like. I have been googling pictures of nurseries and paint colors. My sister, Rachel, decided to let us use Jackson's bedding from Pottery Barn kids. (I hope you can see it in the pics. I think the sheets are gingham green.) Since finding this out, I have been trying to find paint colors that would go well with this bedding. I think I have decided on yellow walls with a pale sage green ceiling. But, I may go with my original pale sage green walls. And of course, Liz is painting the mural as well. I am trying to decide on cherry wood furniture or white. Originally, it wasn't a question. I wanted darker wood. But, again, since finding out that we are going to have this bedding, I am wondering if I should go with white furniture. Rachel also had some gingham curtains made that she is giving us as well.

So, feel free to leave your ideas/suggestions. I would love to hear them!

PS This isn't a pic of Jackson's old room, I googled the name of his bedding, and found this on Ebay.

Our next appt

Our next appt is Friday, the 21st. I can't wait b/c we get to hear the baby's heartbeat again. We definitely treasure that. This appt came up fast. I guess that is b/c we had the ultrasound in between appt's. I am just so thankful that all is going well and that we REALLY are pregnant. It is such a miracle, that sometimes it is hard for me to believe. The next milestone I am really looking forward to is feeling the baby move. I should begin to feel him/her move in the next several weeks. Some websites say I could begin to feel movement this week (13 weeks) especially b/c this isn't our fist child. But, I am figuring it will be closer to 16 weeks. I definitely can not wait b/c that will be such a bonding time.

Your Baby's Development at Week 13 of Pregnancy
At 13 weeks pregnant, your baby can now probably flex its arms and kick its legs. He or she may also be able to put a thumb in his or her mouth, although the sucking muscles are not yet completely developed.

Below is some information from at website that I thought I would share:

Other fetal development that occurs when you are 13 weeks pregnant typically includes the following:

The appearance of fingernails
The beginnings of fingerprints and footprints
The appearance of tooth buds for all 20 baby teeth
The start of vocal cord formation
The movement of eyes (closer together) and the ears (to a normal position)
The appearance of visible ribs
The development of the trachea, lungs, stomach, liver, pancreas, and intestines

P.S. If you are still reading, I just love this picture of the baby chillin'. His/her arms look like they are behind the head with the feet crossed. Too funny!!

Share your Must Have's

I have been registering online today per the advice of my friend, Holly. It was soooo much fun!! I registered at Target, Babies R Us, and Pottery Barn Kids. What I want to know from our blogger friends is, what were the essentials that you purchased.......the must have's if you will? I need all the advice I can get! I don't want to leave out things that we really need. You can definitely get caught up in all that is available. Brian's sister, Liz, is also going to paint a mural for us and I was thinking the inspiration could start with this mural above. Let us know what you think!

First Ultrasound

These are our pictures from today's ultrasound. In the second picture down, the baby looks like its legs are kicked up with its arm behind the head....so funny...maybe our baby will have Brian's laid back personality! In the third picture, the baby is rubbing its eyes and the fourth, the baby is raising its arms with a fist. It was so cute watching the baby also play with its feet!
Our due date stayed the same and the tech's were pretty sure about the sex of the baby.....we were not expecting this at all! We were both amazed by the new technology and the sight of our precious baby!! Thank you for your thoughts and prayers! We are so excited!!
