Hello from Knoxville!

The Gogi contains more Beta Carotene than carrots do and more iron than spinach does. The Gogi berry also contains 21 trace minerals. The Gogi berries are also rich in vitamins. The Gogi berry has B1, B2, B6 and Vitamin E. The amount of Vitamin C in the Gogi berry is actually more than an orange has.

Gogi Berries are very high in protein as well. The Gogi berry is an antioxidant, which is said to cleanse the blood of pollutants of anything unnatural. The Gogi Berry has a long history of treating eye problems, skin rashes, allergies, chronic liver disease and tuberculosis.

The Gogi Berry contains many other health benefits that extend beyond the treatments above. They also can help with the treatment.

The Gogi Berry contains Betaine, which is calms nervousness and enhances memory,

Physalin, which is a known treatment for Hepatitis B

Solavetivone is a strong anti fungal and anti bacterial compound.

Beta Sitoserol is an anti inflammatory agent

Cyperone is a benefit for the treatment of cervical cancer as well as heart and blood pressure.

The Gogi Berry has been called the world's strongest weapon against aging.
Hemp seed has been consumed by mankind (and animals) for centuries. Indeed, whole populations have survived off hemp seed in times of famine. In China, at the cinema, you can still buy roasted hemp seeds in the same way as you can buy popcorn in the West.

Hemp has 3 unique nutritional factors. It has an ideal balance of Omega 3 and 6 for sustainable human health, it has a full amino acid spectrum meaning it provides complete protein, and it has a massive trace mineral content - truly one of nature's superfoods.

Consumption of hemp oil and hemp seed is ideal for people with low essential fatty acid intake, and also perfect for athletes. It is of course particularly valuable to the veggie/vegan population, and even more so for veggie/vegan athletes, who are always looking for complete protein sources.

Kale absolutely rich and abundant in calcium, lutein, iron, and Vitamins A, C, and K. Kale has seven times the beta-carotene of broccoli and ten times more lutein. Kale is rich in Vitamin C not to mention the much needed fiber so lacking in the daily diet of processed food eating Americans. The "Icing on the Kale" are the natural occurring all important phytochemicals sulforaphane and indoles which research suggests may protect against cancer. Let's not forget the all important antioxidant Vitamin E. Rest assured kale spares nothing in providing one with much needed nutrients and associated health benefits.

For one thing, the body can quickly absorb larger amounts of nutrients from juices than from solid foods because the process of digestion that is necessary when you eat whole foods is bypassed. Raw fruits and vegetables contain many substances that enhance health, and juicing benefits the body by providing the most concentrated and readily absorbed source of these substances.

Another one of the major health benefits of juicing is that it is an easy way to get beneficial enzymes, which are primarily found in raw foods, into the body. Enzymes in fresh fruits and vegetables have the vital role of converting food into body tissue and energy. Enzymes are also involved in metabolism, so one of the more valuable health benefits of juicing is that it can increase metabolic rate. Juicing also ensures that the body is getting sufficient amounts of phytochemicals, substances in plants that are considered among the most powerful ways to fight disease. While most people do not eat enough raw fruits and vegetables to obtain the amount of phytochemicals that would make a difference, it is relatively easy to drink enough juice to obtain sufficient amounts of these powerful nutrients. In addition, antioxidants and other immune enhancing properties are concentrated in juices.

Juicing can therefore help to accelerate recovery from illness. In fact, juicing with specific combinations of fruits or vegetables can target particular conditions and improve or alleviate symptoms.

Like what you see?

I am having a rare quiet moment and thought I would update my blog. We are having a great time visting with the Hovis's. Chase is pretty sick and was up all night but other than that, all is going really well. I made a trip to Earth Fare (http://www.earthfare.com/) last night for a few must haves and made Rachel a healthy, super food packed lunch today. She ate it all and I think she really enjoyed it? I peeked at my juicer today and am so excited to try out some recipes. Rachel and I are headed dowtown tonight to eat at Sun Spot (http://www.sunspotrestaurant.com/) and I cant wait! It will be short but good sister time....

So in lieu of our eats tonight, I was thinking about food and posted a few pics of what is on my mind in regards to my menu next week..and a few fun facts:) yummo!! What's on your menu for the week?
